About the Position

  • Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with their purchases, answering questions, and offering product recommendations.

  • Operate a cash register, process payments accurately, and issue appropriate change.

  • Manage customer transactions efficiently and ensure a smooth checkout process.

  • Assist in stocking, organizing, and maintaining inventory in the lumberyard and store.

  • Load and unload materials in a safe and efficient manner.

  • Keep the store clean, neat, and presentable at all times.

  • Assist with pricing and labeling merchandise.

  • Follow safety guidelines and maintain a safe work environment.

  • Provide support to other team members as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Load building materials for customers in a safe and timely manner.

  • Review orders before delivery to ensure accuracy and completeness.

  • Interact professionally with customers, providing outstanding service and assistance as needed.

  • Maintain delivery vehicle in a clean and organized condition, reporting any vehicle issues promptly.

  • Follow all company policies and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to coordinate delivery logistics.

  • Complete necessary paperwork, such as delivery slips, vehicle inspections, and mileage logs.

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as checking oil levels and refueling.

  • Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while operating company vehicles.

Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Prior experience in delivery driving or a related field is advantageous.

  • Ability to lift heavy building materials and use equipment such as forklifts when necessary.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Strong time management and organizational abilities.

  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and environments.

  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

About You

  • Prior experience in a customer service or retail environment is preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to handle cash and operate a cash register.

  • Basic knowledge or interest in home improvement products.

  • Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks as necessary.

  • Detail-oriented with good organizational skills.

  • Dependable and trustworthy.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Flexibility to work weekends and evenings as needed.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
