Full-Time Building Materials Sales Representative

Positions at the following location:
Atlantic, IA

The Building Material Sales Representative is a vital resource in connecting customers and contractors with building material suppliers for product selections, ensuring customer satisfaction, fostering relationships, and driving sales. 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with home improvement consumers and residential contractors. 

  • Assisting customers with product selections. 

  • Preparing material estimates for doors, windows, siding, roofing, decking, framing, etc. 

  • Identifying and pursuing new sales opportunities and developing strategies to meet sales goals. 

  • Managing customer orders and resolving complaints. 

  • Maintaining records and reporting on sales activities. 

 

Essential qualifications and skills: 

  • Experience: Previous hands-on experience in residential remodels and/or sales experience, particularly in construction or building materials. It would be an advantage to have experience working with contractors. 

  • Technical Skills: building material product knowledge, ability to interpret blueprints. 

  • Soft Skills: Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills; relationship-building and customer service abilities; self-motivation, organization, problem-solving, and adaptability.
