Akin Building Center Proud to Support Sleep in Heavenly Peace

On Friday, June 20, Akin Building Center proudly hosted the kickoff of the June 2025 Build for Sleep in Heavenly Peace, a nationwide organization that provides beds for children in need.

The event took place at our Creston location (604 Sheldon St.), where volunteers from all walks of life came together with a shared goal: to make sure no child sleeps on the floor.

Throughout the evening, our team and volunteers worked hard:

  • Cutting and sanding 250+ boards

  • Preparing headboards and sideboards for 20 twin beds

  • Laying the groundwork for the Saturday assembly event at Creston Elks Lodge

This initiative supports children ages 3–17 across Union, Ringgold, and Adair counties, ensuring they receive not only a bed frame but also a mattress, bedding, and pillow—giving them a place to sleep and dream.

  • Creston Elks Lodge for hosting the Saturday build
